Overview

This record covers the Full-Stack AEM & React Developer role at Nationale Loterij / Loterie Nationale in Brussels, running from September 2024 to October 2025. The work contributed to the One Player Portal (OPP), a large-scale platform serving millions of Belgian lottery players.

Architecture & Development

  • Designed and implemented AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) components integrated with React (TypeScript, Redux) for high-traffic features:
    • BE Winners banner (dynamic condition-based rendering).
    • XL Tile – Draw Game (scalable UI component for game promotions).
    • Game End Modal (real-time engagement module).
  • Built reusable component libraries and aligned the AEM backend with frontend state management patterns.

DevOps & Testing

  • Ensured reliable multi-environment delivery (DEV, TEST, ACC, PROD) via Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Applied SonarQube quality gates, Jest unit tests, and Playwright component and end-to-end tests.
  • Collaborated closely with QA, business analysts, and designers to integrate testing into CI/CD.

Key Contributions

  • Improved performance of carousel and banner rendering logic by ignoring unnecessary cq:responsive nodes (a deep dive into AEM internals).
  • Advocated for architectural consistency between frontend and backend, reducing duplicated logic across components.
